Mekong Delta to Phu Quoc Tour

Experience the Mekong Delta in this amazing 3 day excursion on your way to beautiful Phu Quoc Island at Vietnam’s Southern tip. See rural Vietnam and its beautiful culture in multiple cities as you explore the country’s culture and history from a personal and private perspective.

DAY 1:

We start with pickup from your hotel by our English speaking guide and driver in your own private car. We start our tour by visiting the provincial capitol of My Tho, and once there our transportation changes to boat and we work our way through the water to take in the natural surroundings. Then we head over to a local orchard depending on the season which includes dragon fruit, rambutane, pomelo and other tropical fruits.

From there we head on sampan boat to a local coconut factory where they produce sweets as we continue on to explore the many small channels between the mangrove trees. Stopping for lunch we experience elephant ear fish or stewed coconut shrimp to recharge before heading to Can Tho, and on the way we stop at one of the most beautiful pagodas in the region.

We check into the hotel, and recommend a stroll on the busy Ninh Kieu promenade to enjoy a relaxing view of the sunset before dinner and ending the day.

DAY 2:

We start early today and go to visit the floating market of Cai Rang. After breakfast we go on sampan boat to the market and there you can enjoy a number of local treats, have a coffee on the water, or test your negotiation skills as we work our way through the market.

We continue on visit a crocodile farm where you get up close and personal before stopping for lunch. You might be intersted in trying crocodile during lunch, along with a number of other dishes. Then we take a short bike ride to local family’s home where you can immerse yourself in the Mekong’s traditionals to better understand the lifestyle. See a number of local facotries including a small brick factory, a shipyard, and craft manufactures. Then based on the schedule we can continue on to see tropical birds in an observatory if the weather is appropriate. In the late afternoon we then head back to Can Tho for the evening to relax.

DAY 3:

After breakfast you will be taken to the ferry crossing for Phu Quoc in Rach Gia. The tour ends here, and the ferry starts at 1pm and takes about 2.5 hours to arrive. Once in Phu Quoc you can enjoy beautiful sandy beaches, relax in one of Vietnam’s Southern tropical retreats, and see a number of other local specialties.
