What We Include…
The Mekong Delta & Saigon City Cruise Tour is a great way to enjoy your time at port Vietnam. The tour offers a peaceful, charming, and reserved glimpse into the Mekong Delta’s lifestyle, and then an equally impressive quick city tour. Our goal during this tour is to give you an understanding of old and new, if a fun and relaxed way, while ensuring you make the most of your time.
The tour starts with pickup directly at the port by your English speaking guide. From there we travel to the town of My Tho in Tieng Giang Province which takes around 3 hours. Along the way you will see the landscape change from an urban sprawl to natural farm rich expanse. Once we arrive, we go by boat down the tributaries and explore the river’s secrets and nature. We will pass by a number of small islands, houseboats, small ports, and orchards. Depending on the season we stop to enjoy some fruit from one of the orchards like dragon fruit, pomelo, papaya, durian, and mangosteen to name a few.
Then after a short walk we visit a small coconut candy factory where you can further indulge in these incredible sweets. Then in small local sampan boats we go exploring the many small river channels between the mangrove trees. An unusual and fun experience, you will want to grab pictures during this part of the journey.
We board our bus and eat on the go with a prepared lunch bag as we travel back to Saigon. Relax on the way back to town and then wee the French inspired Dong Khoi street with the Notre Dame Cathedral, main post office, and Opera House. The area is central in district 1, but is also surrounded by trees and a huge park, all of which make for great photos along the way.
From there we head over to the Bitexco Financial Tower and enjoy the view from the 51st floor of the tallest building in the city center. We invite you for a soft drink and give you some time to take pictures of the city from an unobstructed high point. Then if time remains, we can make a quick stop a the nearby street market of Ton That Dam before heading back to the port.
Out target is to have you at your ship 1.5-2 hours before your scheduled departure time. If the cruise is staying overnight, then we can look at a number of options including restaurant lunch which is included in the price, or maybe you prefer a dinner cruise or show at night.
