What We Include…
This 4 day tour through the Mekong Delta allows you to see and experience the region and enjoy the area’s charm. We recommend this tour if you would like to see Vietnam from a deeper perspective and enjoy a trip out of the major city of Saigon.
DAY 1:
We start with pick-up from your hotel and travel to My Tho by private car. Upon arrival we continue by boat to get a nice first impression of the natural surroundings in the region. You will see life from the river and understand more about the fishing lifestyle that drives Veitnam’s seafood industry. Then we visit a fruit orchard depending on the season to experience some exotic fruits such as dragon fruit, rambutane, pomelo, and others.
After that we continue to a local factory that makes coconut candy and other items are made. Then continuing by sampan boat to explore the river channels between the mangrove trees on our way to enjoy a local specialty lunch of elephant ear fish or stewed coconut shrimp. Then we visit on of the most beautiful pagodas in the region and travel to Can Tho. Check into your hotel and enjoy the sunset at Ninh Kieu promenade on the Hau River before having dinner and enjoying the rest of the night.
DAY 2:
After an early start and breakfast we head on sampan boat to the floating market of Cai Rang. Put your skills to the test and bargain for a wide range of fruits and other products, and then sit back and enjoy a coffee on the water. We then head to a noodle factory to see how the famously fresh traditional soft noodles are made.
Around lunch time we visit a crocodile farm where you can get up close and personal with these mighty predators, and then sit down to lunch where (if you dare) you can even try the meat among a range of other dishes on the menu…
We continue to a local family’s home where we continue on to see a rice paper factory and fish farm where you can enjoy the relaxing atmosphere and take in the culture. Then head to Chau Doc where we will stay that night.
DAY 3:
Today we visit Nui Sam Mountain, and famous Ba Chua Su and Tan An pagodas. Enjoy and capture the breaktaking views and fresh air as you overlook lands spanning to Cambodia. We have lunch soon after and then continue on to Tra Su mangrove forest which is home to a diverse range of bird species. Followed then by another boat trip to the floating villages where you can the famous Pangasius fish farm. Here you will be able to observe first the locals in their daily work and immerse yourself in the daily life of the rural population. From there we return to Cahu Doc for the evening to enjoy ourselves.
DAY 4:
We have some options depending on your schedule which include-
- Speedboat on the Cambodian border to Phnom Penh.
- Drive to Ha Tien and take the ferry to Phu Quoc.
- Return to Saigon during the day.
