What We Include…
The floating market of Cai Rang is a special trip for those that want to experience the local customs of Vietnam.
DAY 1:
Your journey starts with pick up from your hotel in the morning with your private coach and English Speaking tour guide which will join you for the trip. Once in the provincial capitol of My Tho, the “rice bowl” and gateway to the Mekong Delta we continue by boat.
After some first impressions to understand the local way of life, we then go on to visit some local orchards and factory where they grow and manage fruits including rambutane, pomelo, dragon fruit, and other based on the season.
Then continuing on by boat we explore the local small river sections between the mangrove trees and take in the natural beauty of southern Vietnam’s ecosystem. For lunch we will enjoy some local specialties (based on your dietary requirements) which can include elephant ear fish, or coconut shrimp at a local restaurant in typical Mekong atmosphere.
After refilling the tank, we then head by car to Can Tho, and visit the most beautiful pagoda in the region along the way. Upon arriving in Can Tho we check into the hotel, and you can choose your destiny for the evening, but we would suggest watching the sunset on the Ninh Kieu promenade if the skies cooperate.
DAY 2:
Today we like to start early. After breakfast we will head the floating market of Cai Rang by boat. This floating market is one of the largest and oldest markets in all of Asia. You can bargain for local products including food and other items, enjoy a coffee, and take pictures until the late morning. From there we then head to a local noodle factory, where you will see first hand how fresh ingredients in Vietnam make it every corner of the country. From there we stop for food as needed, and then begin our return trip.
There is the opportunity depending on your availability to extend this trip, where you can visit Rach Gia or Chau Doc to drive to the speedboat ferry to Phu Quoc, or even Cambodia. If this is something that is interesting for you, just ask us and we can extend the tour or support your own personal travel plans.
